Railway Hut Signage (May 2026)

Volunteers (and railway enthusiasts) from Rosemarket Local History Society (RLHS) undertook some bramble and overgrowth clearance recently, taking the opportunity to also install signage to provide passers-by with information about this rare heritage from the railway era.

Carefully handcrafted to give a sense of the style typically used at this crossing during the railway’s active years, the sign includes an image of how the lamp oil hut would have once looked, as well as a little of its history.

Engagement with CADW and other parties is ongoing as a plan for its rescue and restoration continues. We have discovered however, that the process is a slow one and we are currently awaiting further guidance and feedback from Pembrokeshire County Council.
