In memory of RLHS committee member, Julia Pearce (April 2024)

Rosemarket Local History Society (RLHS) is very sad to announce the death of committee member, Julia Pearce, after a short illness.

Julia had lived with her husband Robin, also a RLHS committee member, and their Australian cattle dog Peggy, at ‘Sunnybanks’ on The Beacon. She had been enthusiastically researching and writing about the property’s fascinating history shortly before she fell ill.

Julia had a huge community spirit and many talents. Whilst only being part of the Rosemarket community for a couple of years, she was also involved in lots of community activities including helping to organise the King’s Coronation events in the village last year and being our ‘star baker’ for the RLHS speaker-event and St Ismael’s Church coffee mornings.

Robin plans to complete Julia’s research on ‘Sunnybanks’ and publish an article on our website at a future date in her memory.

Julia will be sadly missed and affectionately remembered.
RLHS sends our deepest condolences to Robin, Jeremy, Iona and family.
