Rosemarket Cubs, Scouts and Brownies

Rosemarket Local History Society is researching the history of Cubs, Scouts and Brownies in Rosemarket and would like to hear from anyone with any recollections or stories.

The picture below is taken from a newspaper cutting from the early 1960s (believed to be The Western Telegraph). It features the Cubs and Scouts of the 1st Rosemarket Group on the occasion of having collected logs for delivery to “the old people of the parish of Rosemarket”. Very little is known about the history of Cubs and Scouts in Rosemarket – so if you can help with our research, please do get in touch.

Brownies
We would also like to hear from anyone who was a Brownie (or Girl Guide) in Rosemarket. We have very little material or information on groups in Rosemarket, although we are aware that Mrs Nicolle (wife of Rosemarket School teacher, Geoffrey), ran the Brownie’s in the village. If you can help in our research, please contact us.
