Rosemarket Local History Society (RLHS) and St Ismael's Church once again joined forces to organise two events for the community of Rosemarket on Remembrance Sunday 2023; 12th November.
St Ismael's Church
Led by Rev Canon Alan Chadwick, there was a traditional Act of Remembrance within the Celebration of Holy Communion. Wreaths were laid on behalf of RLHS (Terry Maddison), St Ismael's Church (Ashley Warlow), military veterans (Phil Pearce, Royal Marine Commandos), Rosemarket Community Council (Caroline Haley) and Pembrokeshire County Council (County Councillor Danny Young).

Following the church service, and in the rain, there was a short service of Remembrance for all the people and animals who gave their lives in service to our country. This special event, now in its third year, honours soldiers from Rosemarket who gave their lives in service to our country and included a reciting of Rosemarket soldiers named on the memorial plaque in the church as well as readings from members of the community.
At this time of year, its so important that as well as remembering our soldiers, we remember the bravery of the animals who served alongside them. Over 16 million animals served in the First World War. They were used for transport, communication and companionship. This event also remembers those animals, and we'd like to thank all the dogs (and their humans) that braved the soggy weather to join us.
We'd also like to thank all those that made today's events possible and helped make it such a memorable occasion. Special thanks must go to Tracy Jane Ashcroft and Terry Maddison for preparing the church so beautifully for this poignant occasion, and to Antony Haley for capturing the occasion with photographs.
